Herush Kateryna, a 4th year student of the 1st group of the Faculty of Medicine 1, studied at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania
during the autumn semester (September 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022) to finance a Lithuanian scholarship program. Teaching and teaching of clinical disciplines took place in one of the best clinics in the Baltic region “Kauno Klinikos”, which performs operations of varying complexity, including heart, liver and kidney transplants. During my studies in Kaunas I attended classes in four disciplines: “Cardiovascular diseases”, “Kidney Diseases, Urinary Tract and Toxicology”, “Diseases of Digestive System”, “Endocrinology and Endocrine Surgery ». An important part of the training was the practical component,
during which we had the opportunity to practice skills on mannequins,
as well as to attend surgical operations in urology,
abdominal, endocrinology and cardiac surgery.
One of the favorite places during the period of study was the university
library, which worked around the clock for the convenience of every student and
teacher. The atmosphere that prevailed in it contributed to learning and better
assimilation of information. Studying in Lithuania gave me the opportunity not only
to gain new knowledge and experience, but also to meet colleagues from
around the world, including Spain, Sweden, Israel, France, Portugal
and Turkey.
I express my sincere gratitude to the international department of the Bukovina State
Medical University and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences
for their assistance in participating in the international exchange during the autumn
semester!
